Buckets n' Deeces

Well actually, it's just one bucket and deece. Finally had the models printed, and they are now sitting proudly on my work desk.

Betty The Cow

A dairy cow I created last year for a dairy product company's TVC. Essentially a modified stock 3D cow model with diffuse, specular and normal maps.

I can't seem to remember the name of the real cow we took photos of...

Also, i'm announcing my withdrawal from DW5, just took up a few jobs, and it's gonna be a rough ride. Rock on.

Rage Rant

I just need to get some shit off my chest.

Went to PJ to meet a client and discuss job details, and left just in time to get stuck in the daily jam. RAGEEEEEEEEEEE. Okay I digress.

Got back home and received a call from my sis, telling me that the black 'Old Boy' is on the streets again, this time in dangerous territory where dogs were found mutilated in the past. Grabbed my gear and ran down the street to pick him up and bring him back to our place. Again.

'Old Boy' is at least 13-14 years old, judging from the way he walks and his overall condition. Walked him around the block in an attempt to find his owner, but no luck. None of the neighbours had seen 'Old Boy' before.

On the way back, some dumb fool shouted, "For real ah?". He was shouting out his window in an unlit room (coward), accusing me of letting my dog pee all around. To put it simply, he tasted my wrath, drawing attention from the guard, foreign workers and neighbours. RAGEEEEEEEEEEE.

Got back, fed him and all, and within an hour the owner's daughter came and picked him up. The old dawg's real name is Lucky, and boy is he lucky to have met me and my sis. Twice.

Dominance War V - Concept WIP 1

Going for a humanoid this year. I know I have a helmet fetish, I just can't help it :D Still playing around with the design for now, I'm still caught up with the Cross Fate project.

On a side note, I went for another volunteer session at the dog shelter, and took more videos this time. Might post 'em up sometime soon.

Cross Fate Project Updates 1

Just completed the highpoly for another mech called Verein (Standard). Gonna add details using nDo, a Photoshop plugin. A really quick way of adding small details straight onto normal maps.

On a side note, my prayers go to the helpless animals out there who are suffering/ have suffered in the hands of demons in human form. Far too many abusive people out there. Visit MDDB - Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better if you wish to support them in their mission to bring abuse cases/abusers to light. God bless.

Swamped

As of late, I have been extremely busy working on jobs I took up to bulk up my portfolio and fund some 'improvements' to my home. I shall not reveal any details, but I can say that I have been working on subjects including watercraft (think 300m in length) and small animals.

I won't be indulging in any game art for the time being, as professional opportunities are scarce and there is simply no time for personal projects. Calvin out.

Out Of Commission

Been really sick recently, fever + vomitting + diarrhea + nausea really sucks. Even the thought of turning on the PC gives me a headache and a sudden urge to throw up. For the first time in a very long time games too,  made me want to barf. Okay I'll stop here I can't really compose sentences properly anymore I just thought that I should let you guys know that there won't be any major updates soon. Calv out.

Windows Live Messenger Woes

For f***'s sake Microsoft, fix the damn program already! I was amazed by the amount of hits I got with "can't sign in MSN", 260 million to be exact. After hours of searching, I finally viewed the log file generated using MSN, and pinpointed my problem : MSN was disconnecting itself everytime.

Messenger:Zone_Contact_Platform_Errors Contacts store failure, forcing Logoff

Armed with specific information on what's wrong, I searched yet again, and hit the jackpot.

This solution works for the problem where MSN does not return any error message after failing to sign in, and simply leads you back to the login screen. Go HERE to read about it.

Kuantan, Here I Come!

The title might make me sound enthusiatic about it, but i'm not the least happy about it. I'll be there for my sister's 2nd wedding reception on Saturday, and should be back on Sunday.

As for work, a model got approved by the director/client last night at 10.30pm. Now it's time for the rigger/animator to have fun. :D

End Of The Drought?

Hi guys & girls, it's been a while. Haven't done anything since DW4 besides gaming and making this lame demoreel which is actually just 4 model turnaounds.

The Pawn Gets Some Action

Finally managed to get a model into UT3, after 2 days of messing around with the editor. Unfortunately, the model doesn't exactly fit into the skeleton, hence the weird deformation at the hand. The textures are also screwy because UT3 has restrictions on how the UVs are placed (head area, arms area, etc.). I have yet to solve a problem with the shoulderpads, and the tutorials out there aren't helping much.

Oh yeah, Akhlys MK.IV got into UT too, but i didn't do any proper skinning to it. And FYI, i had to learn to skin the models in Max instead of Maya.

Ah, my external HD (which was a replacement for my broken one) got stolen at BlitZone Sri Petaling today due to my carelessness. Hopefully this ends the chain of misfortunes surrounding the HD.

Beauty Shot Edit

I'm back! And i saw with my fresh eyes that the lens blur on the beauty shot kinda takes away some of the details. Since it's not really necessary, i removed the blur for a crisp look. Not going to post the image again, so i edited the previous post. If there are no other comments or suggestions on anything i should change, i'll be submitting the final images soon (just to get this done and over with). Thanks!

Dominance War 4 - Main Challenge Deadline

Just checked the main page for DW4 which is... HERE, and found out that the new deadline is 18th May! FFFFFUUUU----- and i worked my ass off rushing everything within a week!!! On the bright side, i'll be able to work on it some more when i get back, so feel free to comment on the entry! Calvin out.

Sequence Fashion Show @ Urbanattic KL

The fashion show was a joint effort between Bunny Noo, Sexxay Stuff @ Sexxay Prices and Blushberry hosted at Urbanattic, Capsquare. Makeup and hair was done by Make Up Store. As for entertainment, the uber awesome band Ramanados provided a mind-blowing performance.
